On August 12, the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China announced that, through an open recruitment process, Winter Olympic champion Wu Dajing has been appointed as the head coach of the Chinese short track speed skating team. The 32-year-old Wu Dajing has participated in three Winter Olympics. He won the gold medal in the men's 500 meters at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, securing the first and only gold medal for the Chinese delegation at that Games. At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese team led by him won the gold medal in the 2000-meter mixed relay. In January this year, he announced his retirement.
